Inspiron 13 usb-c and hdmi ports for dual monitors?

$

I have an Inspiron 13 (7368) and I was wondering if the HDMI port and the usb-c port with DisplayPort would be able to output at the same time. I want to hook up my laptop to 2 external monitors, where one is connected via the HDMI port, and the other is connected through an hdmi to usb type c dongle. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or do I just need to buy a docking station? I wanted to see if I could just use the HDMI and USB-C ports on the laptop first in order to save a few dollars.

XPS l421x -remove battercharger cord - sudden shuts off

Hi,

I have my Dell XPS l421x for almost 3 years now. Just up to recently my battery could hold for up to 3 hours. Just 2 weeks ago, as I removed the cord after charging, suddenly my laptop shut off (no  electricity). I couldn't turn it on unless I plugged a charger. 3 days later, I could turn it on without charger and it held up to 2 hours before I had to connect to a charger. Now in the last few days again the first issue emerged. I am not able to turn the laptop on unless it is connect to charger and the power cuts off as soon as I unplug the charger cord.

Is the problem with the battery? Should I buy a new battery to resolve the issue?

Please let me know and thanks in advance for your help

Best,

Hessam

P.S. This is my first post, so I am not sure if the was the right place/category to ask this question.

Inspiron 5578 Power Adapter

Hey, A quick and easy question.

I've been looking through the Dell website looking for a second UK power adapter for my Inspiron 5578. Every time I enter my service tag it isn't finding anything or if I look through the lists, my model number isn't listed yet.

Which power adapter do I need please and where can I find it on the Dell website. Thanks.

Require Pressing Power Button Twice to Boot to Windows

I recently purchased a new Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series 2-in-1 laptop.  Overall it works great, but I'm always required to press the power button twice to turn on the computer.  This has always been the case since the first time I turned on the laptop after purchase.

When I press the power button the first time, the laptop powers on and the Dell logo appears, then the screen goes black.  I press the power button a second time and it boots up successfully and Windows loads.  It's very strange and this happens every single time.  Any thoughts?  Is there some weird setting in the BIOS or Windows setting that would cause this?

XPS 15 9550, open windows resizing after wake / lid open, igfxpers.exe?

$

For a while, shrinking of windows, apparently to fit a somewhat smaller screen resolution than the default 4K, has been bugging me now and then. At first I thought this had sth to do with the other wake-from-sleep/hibernation related woes. But lately I've seen it in action upon just reopening the lid, without any form of sleep involved. Did anybody else notice such window resizing after closing and then reopening the lid?

After a bit of googling I guess this is likely caused by the Intel video driver, more specifically igfxpers.exe. Any thoughts about disabling it? Any other idea?

xps 13 9350 crazy battery issue on sleep

i bought a new xps 13 9350 signature edition few days ago and after almost a week something crazy is going on with the battery while the system is on sleep. It goes from full charge to completely dead in less than 2 days while on sleep.

up on checking the connected standby mode is disabled by default on this machine and after extracting the battery usage report from the system seems the system is keep on waking up from sleep every less than 5min or so by itself.

all of my drivers are updated and running on the latest build of windows 10. upgraded window to the latest build and all of the drivers the first thing after i turned on the system for the first time in case if there is any issues from the past might be fixed already in the new updates.

look at the system generated battery usage report:

New XPS 9630 Right Side USB Not Working Out of Box

Wondering whether anyone can provide some insight below.  Thanks in advance.

Brand new XPS 9630 i5 non-touch but right side USB not working out of box.  No other software installed other than provided by DELL as part of the build.

Tried various USBs:  2.0, 3.0, flash drive, external drives, etc.  The same USBs work perfectly when inserted into the left side port.  Right side USB port not working as expected:

1. No safely removal icon

2. Not recognized by Create USB Recovery

3. Not showing up in Device & Printer

4. No Quick Removal Policy in device manager when inserted into the right side port

When inserted into the right side port, the drive shows up in Explorer and Disk Manager, and can copy and move files.  Mouse works OK on the right side port.

Updated BIOS and all the drivers listed on Dell support, applied latest windows update.  No change.

Booted into safe mode, the same issue exists.

Have contacted Dell Tech Support and they believe that this is a software issue because hardware diagnostics returns OK.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Inspiron 17 5000 (5767) - fan is on all the time and noisy

I received a new Inspiron 5767 from Dell.com.au 4 days ago. From the moment it was on for the first time it makes this noticeable white noise, sounds like a fan to me. The noise starts from the moment the laptop is turned on, does not change regardless of what I do on the laptop, and stops only when laptop is shut down or goes to sleep. The vents are not blocked, laptop is on hard desktop and it's not hot at all in the office. Does anybody have this sort of problem with brand new laptops?

I had a chat with Dell tech support today, and they want the laptop to be sent to Dell service. Despite the all the inconvenience of being without the machine for a couple of weeks at least, I am concerned about this line in Service Request email that was sent to me: "Good presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired."

Well, this is really not what I'd like to happen!!!  Did Dell actually send refurbished machine to anybody instead of fixing their brand new one? Is there a way to opt out of this scenario?

Laptop Stuck at Dell Logo Inspiron 5558

I have a Dell Inspiron 5558. Yesterday, after trying to start after sleep mode, laptop stuck at Dell Logo. Not completing POST properly.

As per references found here, I tried to Hard Restart laptop by removing AC plug, battery and pushing start button for 20-30 second. That didn't work.

Laptop showing BIOS properly with hardware OK, especially HDD as I got references that the HDD may create this problem. Pressing F12 on startup taking me to another option from which I tried to Diagnose the situation but after clicking on diagnosing, the screen goes blank and shows nothing.

There are no recent hardware changes. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

Wifi intermittently stops on XPS 13. Fixed!

I was having intermittent disruptions of my Wifi on my new XPS 13 in my bedroom.  The router is a Netgear N300.  Everything worked well at first then the interruptions started when I installed a usb port on the right side of the laptop.  It's a plastic port with no cord.  It swivels and plugs in with three extra ports above the laptop's usb port.

The 3 socket usb extension was in the right side usb port with a light and two additional devices plugged into the port.  The port"s usb sockets extend above the laptop's usb port and has a swivel feature.  After removing this usb extension and placing it on the laptop's left side,  the Wifi worked fine.  Apparently the usb extension on the right side was blocking the laptop's internal antenna.  I still use the laptop's right side usb port with one device and there's no problem now.

I did purchase a Wifi extender in the mean time but probably don't need it now........

XPS 15 9550 WIN10 shuts down instead of sleeping

Hi,

When I close my lid or push the power button, which are both configured for sleeping, my system shuts down resulting in data loss and applications shutting down as well.
The power button is still lit however. Is this hibernation mode then? I never used it so I don't know it. Anyway, I didn't configure it for hibernation.

This started happening about 3-4 weeks ago. I reïnstalled windows, but it didn't help. Does this have anything to do with an update maybe?

Thank you for your help.
