Dell Inspiron 13 7359 2-in-1 | Accidentally Uninstalled Touch Screen! Help D:

Hey there guys!

I have a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 laptop and a few weeks ago my touch screen stopped working.  Amidst my poor efforts I ended up accidentally uninstalling it thinking that I could reinstall it easily.  Now I'm unable to reinstall it and am super sad :( 

Could someone please provide a step by step guide to reinstall my touchscreen so I can use it again?  That would be greatly appreciated!

Bluetooth disappeared after windows 10

i have dell inspirion 11 3147, after updating to windows 10 new version my bluetooth device is missing there is no sign of life of bluetooth in my lapi ,,i have tried different setups of windows even downgraded to 8.1 but all in vain is there any hardware issue or software issue , wifi is working well

Hello,

I want to make a complaint about my warranty.

First I bought the Dell insprion 7559i gray and after I used it for 3 days it stopped working , I called the service here I Turkey ( the laptop had bought from The US) so the service told me you have to transfer your warranty to turkey to fix your laptop , I made the request then I gave the laptop to the service they told me there is a factory issue with the laptop ( motherboard problem) and they have to change it, but my warranty type is (CAR) not (CIS) so they told me to change it again to (CIS)type.

I made another request but Dell the customer services told me you transferred your warranty once so you cannot change it to (CIS) you have to pay and upgrade your warranty type.

1-the customer should know the types of warranties while transferring?

2- If the customer is expert and knows the types, there are no choices of warranty types in the transferring form.

3-why I don’t have the (CIS) warranty type for high priced laptop 1500$?

4-If I had the (CIS) type what is the meaning of losing it because I transferred it once?

5- how much money should I pay to use my laptop? 1500$ and more than 300$ to upgrade the warranty, it would be better if you put the real price and a good laptop without issues.

 I regret buying the Dell brand

Temporary solution/workaround: disable "C-States" in BIOS, the "Performance" section.

Issue description:
My new DELL XPS 9360, CPU i7-7500U (Kaby Lake) was freezing/hanging completely under Windows 10 (most recent BIOS as of today, tried Windows without and with recent updates). There were no Windows logs preceding it. The display was frozen, audio playing in a loop the last sound, the keyboard, touchpad, external mouse irresponsive. Only recovery with a long press of the power button.

All DELL self-test passed fine, also Windows overnight memory test passed fine.

DELL service in Switzerland/Germany checked it and sent back without any repair (but still they sent it back after ONE month after I emailed them).

Hi,

I have bought for my wife a new Inspiron 15 3552. I want to swap the standard drive with a SDD which I have. Normally you can just open the back and replace the drive. This Dell has however not a piece of plastic that covers let's say half of the back, there is just one piece of plastic covering the whole back.

When I download the service manual which my service tag points to, I get a manual where I can see that you can remove the lower plastic part and see drive and memory. As I already mentioned this model has just not this piece of plastic you can remove. It seems you must somehow remove the whole back.

Is there a service manual which describes this (newer?) model?

Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series won't start

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series 15.6" touchscreen laptop that I bought in June of 2014 that won't start. The exact text on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop is: Inspiron 15, 33308/SDPPI/2014 3878. It was working fine two days ago and I put it into hibernate and didn't use it at all yesterday until last night when I went to boot it up. The charging light on the laptop was on as well as the light on the charging cord adapter. I thought it must have died during the day so I let it charge for a while before trying again but when I went back the charging light on the laptop wasn't on but the light on the adapter still was.  I really need this laptop for school work and can't exactly afford an expensive fix or a brand new laptop (nor do I want to deal with the hassle during finals) so I've tried doing my own research. Upon doing a little research myself online, I saw a recommendation to remove the batter and the power cord and hold the power button for a spanse of time. That didn't work. I tried another recomendations of leaving it unplugged and the battery out for a couple hours. So i left it like that overnight and put it back together and plugged it in this morning and still no light. From a bit more digging I think (and hope) that it is only the battery that needs to be replaced. Any and all help is appreciated!

I have had to take off windows 10 and put on windows 7 enterprise and bit locker wood not load I had to uncheck tpm in the bios and set to legacy .then I changed tpm from 2.0 to 1.2 after I did this it now's works

Greetings ,

A couple months ago I bought the Dell 2 n 1 15 7000 Start lord laptop and now I am having problems with it charging.  It shows that it is plugged in and I get the message that it doesn't recognize it and it won't charge.  I am using the cord that came with the laptop. 


E5550 Wake on Lan not working

Hey

We have a series of Latitudes E5550 laptops. They are connected to a wired network for management purposes in a dell managment cart . They are used by student who logon wireless to the network with cisco anyconnect.

After class the students put the laptops back in the cart and connect the laptops to power and network. At this time, the cover is closed. When we try to wake up the laptops on lan, that doesn't work. The cart and network work fine. That has been tested thoroughly.

The problems exists on Windows 10 and Windows 7. Drivers are up-to-date and Wake-on-Lan is enabled in BIOS. We checked all settings with other types like E5540 and used those settings and eventually even the same drivers.

We tried Installing different versions of the wifi-driver intel dual band 7265 with no succes. 

Even! installing the laptops from scratch (only windows 7 pro, with networkdrivers) leads to no succes. 

Any ideas?

laptop not recognising its plugged in

Hi

 

My Inspiron 15 is not recognising that it is plugged in at all. The green light is on on the adaptor and the chord is not damaged. The battery is fine, it charged perfectly when I put it into nother dell and works fine back in it's original Dell. The laptop is not recognising that the chord is plugged in at all.

 

Any idea what the problem is?

Inspiron 15 7559 cannot see bluetooth MX Master mouse

My laptop (Inspiron 15 7559 mentioned in the subject) with Win10 cannot see my new Logitech MX Master mouse to pair with it using bluetooth.  The laptop does see other deivces to pair with.  Other devices (like my phone) can see the mouse.  In the Windows 'Settings' - 'Manage Bluetooth devices' the Bluetooth is turned on and it just keeps searching but not finding my mouse (but will find some other devices).

I used the Logitech Options software to look for it as well.  According to them, the fact that it allowed be to search for the mouse meant that my laptop/bluetooth is compatible with the mouse.  But that also failed to find it.

I let some of the Dell diagnostic stuff install and run and it believes that I have the proper and latest drivers.

How do I get this to work?

Alienware 15 Battery replacement

I've got an error message on my laptop that the battery needs to be replaced.

I just ran the Dell application for checking the laptop and it says the battery is fine (it most definitely isn't - great piece of software that is).

I then had a look on Youtube on how to replace a battery on an Alienware 15.

You have to dismantle the whole computer to replace the battery.

It is most incredibly stupid. I'm never going to buy a Dell again. What a stupid stupid design set up.

I wouldn't mind if they made batteries that lasted. Every Dell laptop I've had the first thing to go is the battery. In this Alienware 15 you'd need a degree in electronics to replace it. It's older than a year so it can't be replaced by warranty.

I'm desperately disappointed.

Hello,

I recently received a manufacturer refurbished XPS 15 9550 from eBay.

There is warranty until September 2017 (confirmed by entering the service tag number).

I noticed 3 problems right away:

1. The body makes a small creaking noise, especially around the hinges when the screen is being opened/closed.

2. The bottom of the spacebar key seems to have something stuck under it and is hard to press down. In addition, it makes a very weird clicking noise sometimes.

3. There is a small coil whine when the GPU is 100% active

I thought this unit might have quality control issues, so in addition, a while later when I decided to test the display by loading an all-white background,

4. I found that there are at least 2 small clusters of stuck pixels that are perpetually grayish.

It's possible that problems 1 & 3 are universal to XPS 15 laptops (even though I certainly hope they aren't considering this is a premium laptop), but I'm quite sure that problems 2 and 4 aren't supposed to happen.

I currently wish to send this laptop to Dell to get it fixed, as it is still under warranty.

I phoned Dell Technical Support over the weekend, and they told me to register my computer (which I did) and call again on Monday (as I am in the process of switching service providers/phone numbers I decided an email would create less confusion than making multiple phone calls from different numbers).

I then emailed Dell Technical Support over the weekend, and they're supposed to respond within 1 business day, but it's been 2 business days now and I have yet to receive a response.

Power companior failure

I have a power companion, which I bought from Amazon brand new in late August in US. Now it doesn't charge and when i press the button, blink amber 3 times.
I call to nearest dell office (in Thailand) and they tell me it's out of warranty, even it's about 3 month old, and i used it less than one month.
Serial number from back of the device KR-0R7CW8-71789-55D-A09Q-A01
How can I claim warranty case? I have invoice and purchase docs from Amazon, but it doesn't contain the serial number.

I am considering purchasing my first Dell laptop a New Inpsiron 7565 but am concerned about the amount of problems with the hinges which appears to be a design fault and Dells attitude towards it ie blaming it on wear and tear and abuse.Am I correct in assuming the 7565 uses the same chassis and liable to get the same problem

touchpad swipe right

Recently whenever I accidentally swipe on the touchpad from the right edge towards the center it enters a tab (or performs the function as if I hit the tab button). This is driving me crazy since when I want to move the cursor to the right I get a tab instead. I couldn't find anywhere in the touchpad settings how to disable it.

Any ideas?

Good day!

When I leave work, and close the lid of lapto it goes into hibernation mode. Arriving home, I open the laptop and turn it on with the power button. First, the monitor displays the BIOS splash screen, and then loads the window, but then the screen is lit in gray and there is no possibility to enter a password. Today, having come to work, I spent exeperimental.
1) Turn on the computer, a gray screen.
2) Connect the docking station to a stationary monitor all appeared.
3) I came in, worked, shut the cover - the laptop went into hibernation.
4) Turn on the computer, do not disconnect the docking station, a gray screen on the laptop, on a stationary monitor power saving mode.
5) Reconnect the docking station to a stationary monitor all appeared.

Updated window to update all drivers, update the firmware docking station. Nothing helped!

Dell experts help please it is not convenient to work!
