Dell 7559 Experiences and problems (comparsion with Acer V15 nitro)
Hi,
I want to share my experiences and problems with my new Dell 7559. The main criterion for selection was performance. So I bought Dell 7566, but it had terrible TN panel. (Version with i5 and 1080p display). So the next choice was Dell 7559. And this is my experiences. I can make comparsion with first version of Acer V15 Nitro (i7 4720HQ + 960M)
Cooling is fine, sometimes too noisy. But its able to cool this laptop without thermal throttling (GTA 5 tested), so i can overclock GTX 960M to +135MHz core and 600MHz VRAM and this frequency is still at maximum. This is not possible on Acer V15 Nitro. Because temperatures are to high, CPU 95-97°C thermal throttling on CPU and GPU. So in final result. Dell can run on maximum overclock without frequency drop and thermal throttling and Acer can run ~ 150-200Mhz lower GPU frequency and without CPU boost. So in this case points to Dell (but with higher noise).
The second criterion was display. I knew from review about BOE, and his *** quality. But when I opened HWInfo and there was 9HG62_156WF6 (Acer has 156WF6 SPB1) I thought nice it is the same panel. The same great IPS. But it is not. I can read from owners this display on dell 7559 all over internet forums "its nice". But I have V15 Nitro for comparsion. So 156WF6 from dell againts 156WF6 SB1 from Acer. The IPS on Acer is much better. I don't know how is this possible. But Acer has much better colors (saturation, depth...) and black level. Panel on dell has worse red than my old TN monitor (RED 255, 0,0). I tried many ICC profiles, but it doesnt work. I tried to set higher saturation using Intel hd graphic driver. it could be helpful for some colors (but with loosing details), but basic red 255, 0,0 is still ugly. So how is this possible? I will try to calibrate it. But I do not think it will help. BTW: I wrote it to dell, what will happen with warranty if i remove display panel... = loss of warranty ![:(]()

And last thing is sound quality. The last version of dell audio driver has some best "feature" to bass adjustments with windows volume. If I set Windows volume to maximum and youtube, spotify etc.. to 1/4 it has much more bass than the opposite setting (Windows volume 1/4 and spotify, youtube... to maximum) how to solve this feature or bug?

(BSOD) MEMORY_MANAGEMENT follows with BCMWL63A.SYS
Hi all,
I am using xps 13 9343, with the most updated version of drivers from official website.
I have suffered the BSOD occasionally (which is very frustrating), all of them are related to the captioned wifi driver and memory management. All tests have been run and no abnormalities found. But the problem still there...
If there is something that I have missed to test and setup or re-configure?
Your precious comments and advisories are very appreciated.

E6420 Boot loop after installing Windows 7 Pro
I recently bought a used Latitude E6420 laptop and did a clean install of Windows 7 Pro but it went into a boot loop after setting up username and time zone.
I tried both AHCI & RAID settings, non of them worked
I tested 32 bit version and i received the following error :
"windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware"
so i used the oobe to force it to complete.
if i install the 64bit version, i won't get the error.. but both the versions ends up with the boot loop. I cant even press F8 at all.
i tried using Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Pre-OS Install) but it wouldn't allow 64 bit unsigned drivers.
anyone else had similar issue before or knows the fix for this ?

XPS 15 9550 External Monitor Screen Flicker Through Thunderbolt 3 Port
I recently purchased an XPS 15 9550 with i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and GTX 960m dGPU that I have connected to a 27-inch QNIX qx2710 2560x1440p external monitor. I have this connected through a Cable Matters USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 to DVI-D adapter and cable.
The monitor and everything seem to work fine at 60hz, except for every time I unplug, turn on, or restart the monitor/computer the first five or ten minutes of use is plagued with constant screen flickering and flashing. After ~five minutes the monitor seems to stabilize and will only rarely have a single screen flicker.
I have read other forum threads describing similar issues with different monitors/cable setups and that there is likely an issue between the wifi card and thunderbolt port. The common recommendation is to turn down the wifi output percent to 75%, however the Killer wifi card on this computer does not have an option under advanced settings to turn down the power output. Has anyone had any luck doing this on a recently purchased XPS 15 with the Killer wifi card?
The cables and adapters are new and the BIOS and all drivers are up to date. Other than the wifi issue, does anyone have suggestions or solutions to this screen flickering problem?

Dell Inspiron 3542 Atheros Qualcomm conflicts with Bluetooth
I have the dell inspiron 3542 and there is a very big problem. The Dell Wireless 1705 802.11b/g/n Wireless Network Adapter PCI CONFLICTS with the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse 3600.When i connect it to laptop with Bluetooth the Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting all the time. The DELL or Atheros Qualcomm should take care of it as i see it is a problem for many other customers. This is very frustrating and unacceptable by Dell.

Accidentally, the Express Settings was chosen before I could read which settings were going to be installed. Does anyone have and is willing to provide the list of settings that were set? Or is my best option to do a factory reset?

Dell XPS 9550, Issues with connecting to any TV with HDMI
Hello all!
I recently purchased a Dell XPS 9550 with 4K Touch Display. I am having issues when connecting it to any TV with HDMI. The screen in the TV looks like it has a white tint overlay. The colors are off and its a bit blurry. Initially i thought it was the TV's issue but i tried it on more tvs and its the same. All my graphics drivers are updated.
If i restart the laptop with the HDMI connected and the setting (show only on second screen) enabled when the restart is finished everything is okay and the screen looks fine!
This is really annoying. Every time i want to connect my TV i have to restart.
Can you please tell me what to do? The laptop is only 1 month old.

Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Won't wake up at all
I bought a Dell Inspiron about a month ago and it was working fine although sometimes it didn't wake up or was sluggish responding to pressing the 'on key' but last night it just wouldn't wake up at all. The screen is just black no sound of anything working but the LED is on to show power is getting through from the chord. .
I don't know what to do to wake it up. I have pressed the on switch for 15 seconds but nothing. I looked on line for a manual but I could only find service manuals. I am sure there is another 'reset press with a pin' but I don't want to anything like wipe everything out as even though it is only a month old I have stuff on I want to keep.
Can someone help?

Inspiron 15 5578 i7
Hi
In My Inspiron 5578 keyboard Backlight turns on automatically after every reboot and I have to manually turn it off using F10 key is there any way to disable this feature or this is normal ? I tried to turn off keyboard brightness in windows mobility setting but there is no option to keep back light turned off permanently.

I too have this problem when the Windows 8.1 would start up. I have a 64-bit operating system on this laptop and not really sure as to what to do. Any suggestions?

XPS 13 9350 - PXE boot not working?
I am trying to PXE boot a XPS 13 9350 with a Dell USB 3 to Ethernet adapter (470-ABBT, which according to Dell is supported on the 9350 and able to use for PXE boot).
UEFI and SecureBoot is enabled.
I went in to the UEFI BIOS and under "Advanced Boot Options" checked "Enable UEFI Network Stack".
Saved and Restarted the machine.
Pressed F12 at the Dell logo, chose "USB NIC(IPV4)" under "UEFI BOOT".
The following appears in the top left corner:
>Check Media Precense.....
>>Media Present...
>>Start PXE over IPV4.
Then after a second or two the screen goes black and Dell SupportAssist appears, and starts running a system scan for hardware problems?!
Doesn't make any sense...

Dell Inspiron 5555 restarts after second attempt of sleep
Hi All
Currently my laptop running with windows 10 (64 bit) and powered with CPU AMD A10 processor and Radeon R6 GPU.
I'm having a problem with my dell inspiron 5555 series, the problem is this laptop always restart after second attempt of sleep. I've been looking around for information and tutorial but couldn't find any good solution. So far all a did was updating the driver and bios but doesn't make any change. The laptop still restart after second attempt of entering sleep mode.
I really2 appreciate for your help if you guys can come up with solution.

Dell XPS 15 diplay problem, dims for a fragment of time
I have recently bought a Dell XPS 15 9550 (i7, 512GB SSD)
It has Windows 10 64-bit and BIOS 1.02.14 installed.
I have a problem when display dims for a fragment of time, and it happens every minute or so.
It does not go black, but its brightness falls about 10-20% for a 0.1 second and then goes back to normal. But human eye can notice that and it is very uncomfrotable.
I've turned off Dell PremierColor and this doesn't fix the problem.
The only thing that fixes the problem is reverting to BIOS 1.1.15 (Read it here somewhere on the forums).
When running that BIOS version display works great, but bios diagnostics shows an error with hard-drive (error code : 2000-0151 ). BIOS 1.02.14 diagnostics doesn't show this error.
I'd like to run latest BIOS but without this display issue.

Dell Inspiron 3552 - Hard Drive not installed (HDD/SSD incompability)

BIOS updated to 4.0.11
I replaced HDD with SSD (Plextor PX-128M6Pro, newest firmware 1.05)
PROBLEM:
Sometimes laptop boots without any problems, sometimes SSD is not detected and BIOS shows error: Hard Drive not installed
I checked SSD with other computer and works fine. I checked SATA connector and it is ok. I put back factory HDD and it works fine (but i want SSD).
Dell Diagnostics tells nothing:
- when SSD is detected: "All test passed"
- when SSD is not detected: "Hard drive not installed. Do you want to continue?"
Question:
Is there any solution to this problem or will this laptop work properly with other ssd (Crucial for example)?

My laptop screen is fuzzy until I restart it.
I have a Dell Latitude E7240 and when I initially open up the laptop it is fine for around 1-2 minutes when the screen starts to go fuzzy and will continue doing so until I restart the laptop. Once I restart it, the screen is back to normal and stays fine until I shut it down and the cycle repeats itself. Can anyone help explain why this happens. Thanks.

Dell XPS blank/black screen issue- diagnosis gives 3 beeps
I have a 3 year old XPS 13 (L321X) ultrabook that has a black/blank screen. I hooked up the laptop to an external monitor via hdmi and it works fine. So it's the laptop screen that seems to be the problem. I went through all the suggested troubleshooting from basic to advance. Holding the 'D' at start up, I hear 3 beeps. If I can see the display on an external monitor, is it still a System board issue? Unfortunately, my warranty expired years ago, so trying to fix this the cheapest means possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Dell Inspiron 3000 2 for 1 updates and disk space
I purchased a Dell inspiron 11 3000 2 and 1 which i wanted a smaller tablet but there are some problems with this particular product.
1. The disk space is only 32GB in which Dell loads it with a bunch of stuff. I've deleted all of it and still not enough disk space to update windows 10.
2.Only software i am running on it is MS office is there any other thing i can do to free up the 8GB required for the windows update.
