help with laptop freezing
I have an Inspiron 15 which is about 11 months old. For the past two months it freezes at least once a day. It's not a matter of is moving slowly/ spinning ball. It's everything actually freezing up. It does not necessarily happen when anything is being processed. The mouse won't move. Touch screen does not work. Track pad does not work. Nothing will move and they only way to unfreeze is to dump it by pushing the power button. It is fine once it is turned back on even if it is immediately. The system does not feel hot. I have run all diagnostics on the dell site and everything has come out ok. The only thing I can correlate with the freezing is the fan seems to come on immediately after (or maybe simultaneously ) the freezing. Again there does not seem to be any excess heat. I have checked all the vents and all are clean. Nothing is blocking the vents. Any suggestions??????? Running Windows 10
M3800 only lights the power button
I have a Precision m3800 which, upon pressing the power button, only lights up the button for a few seconds before turning again.

really need help with this.
Latitude 12 drive upgrade
Is the ssd drive in the latitude 12 7275 the same type of drive as the one in the xps 12? I have an xps 12 that I had upgraded to a larger ssd and it is broken beyond repair. Instead of replacing it, I was thinking of getting the latitude 12 instead. So I was wondering if I could use the drive to upgrade the drive in the 7275.
L502x bios-passworded SSD not unlockable in Inspiron 7559
Hello folks.
In the L502x BIOS password for the SSD is set, and unlocks the SSD just fine.
When installed into the 7559 it sees the drive and puts up the "drive XYZ is unlocked, enter password to unlock" .
The password does not work. The keyboard is not at fault ( checked via booting with supplied M.2 SSD).
Drive is a samsung 850 EVO 512 2.5 form factor drive and is not at fault in the l502
Samsung Magician detects no issues with the SSD
Does the 7559 bios ( 1.0.2) support use with these drives ?
Thanks.

Dell E7470 and Kaspersky Full Disk Encryption
Hello
I see that the E7470 is listed in incompatible devices with Kaspersky Endpoint Security FDE. It is listed as BIOS for the limitation. Is anyone aware of any modification on the E7470 that will allow KES to deploy full disk encryption on it? Is a workaround possible ? Below is the kaspersky tech article

Touchscreen of XPS 12
Hi
The touchscreen of my Dell XPS 12 does not always work as it should. Often it does not swipe or even select. At these times it seems that a tap is like a right click. It didn't used to be like this for the first year or so that I have had it. I can't remember when exactly it started, but I think it might have been around the time I updated to Windows 10. I'm pretty disappointed that my laptop doesn't perform one of the major functions that influenced my decision to buy it.
I imagine other people have had the same or similar problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Dell 5510 - TPM disabled on Hard Reboot
When deploying these units with Windows 10 Enterprise, TPM 1.2, and BitLocker, every restart/reboot would ask for the BitLocker Key. Upon researching the issue, it seemed to be related to a BIOS update these devices had not received. I was able to resolve this issue by decrypting the drive, disabling TPM and installing the Firmware, then re-encrypting and re-enabling.
However, there is one instance where the BitLocker Key prompt still appears.
If you hold down the power button until the 5510 completely powers down, then power on the machine it will go to the blue BitLocker Screen.
(Simple workaround is to press the power button to turn off the machine and then press the power button again to power on the machine, which boots to the login screen).
However,
If you enter the BitLocker Key and proceed to log in, there is an interesting message displayed on TPM Administrator. The message is: Compatible TPM cannot be found. Compatible Trusted Platform Module (TPM) cannot be found on this computer. Verify that this computer has a 1.2 TPM or Later and it is turned on in the BIOS.
From this point, restarting the machine clears the issue. However, after researching this problem for weeks, I have not been able to locate any information as to why this occurs.
TPM Manufacturer Information:
Manufacturer Name: WEC
Manufacturer Version: 5.81
Specification Version: 1.2
(Out of curiosity I entered setup after the power down to see if the BIOS menu recognized the TPM as being "on" and "activated." Exiting the BIOS menu allowed the computer to boot to the log in screen.)
Any Ideas or Thoughts?
(The device in my possession is fully up-to-date per Dell's Website).
Drivers Download No longer working
Go through: Support/Support by product:
enter the product ID will no long list the drivers for my laptop. Actually, all precision laptop, no matter which OS I select. DELL web site will not list the drivers. Only digital delivery service and OS imagine are listed under "Drivers & downloads" tab. Doesn't matter I select "auto detect" or "Find it myself".
anybody has the same experience?
Thanks.
Inspiron 7000 Series 7559 Keyboard and Power Button Failure
About once every month, my laptop keyboard will freeze up out of nowhere. It doesn't matter what I'm doing at the moment. However, at the same time, the power button also stops responding. In order to turn off my computer, I have to unscrew the panel under my laptop and unplug the battery cable. After re-plugging the cable in and rebooting, my laptop works fine... until the next time the keyboard fails and I have to do everything described above again.
I have attempted factory resets and system restores but nothing I have done seems to resolve the issue. I suspect that the issue may be related to the actual keyboard's hardware but I am hesitant about opening up my laptop unless it's actually necessary.
Anyone who has experienced this problem or has any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I can post specific specs if needed but here is a screenshot of some of my general specifications: i.gyazo.com/da92a4946a6acafa272ec0811f14c5e3.png

Dell warranty issue xps12 screen
Sent my Dell XPS12 away under warranty having been led to believe Dell would replace the screen.
The monitor still has image retention problems & it turns out Dell didn't replace the screen !! They are now saying I'll have to pay for this as I'm now out of warranty.
I'm extremely disappointed in the way they have handled my case - any suggestions ?

Good day, I checked the warranty of your device and it is still active. My advise is to send the unit in our depot for repair. To set your expectation the repair will take 10-14 days. All the data will be deleted and physical damage is not covered in the warranty. If you want to proceed, please provide your address, primary and alternate contact number.
Thank you

It is the ‘burn in’ issue which has been documented extensively on the internet. I see the previous imagery as the screen updates.

Enabled HAV & TPM in BIOS on Latitude E6420 - but WIndows 7 does not recognise it as enabled
Just posted this in Desktop by mistake so reposting here
Microsoft HAV Detection Tool reported HAV not enabled
So I went into BIOS settings, enabled all 3 Virtualization options, and noticed that one of them indicated TPM also required. Enabled TPM and selected Activate.
Then rebooted, and re-ran HAV Detection tool
Still indicates "not enabled"
Any ideas?

If I can get any advice it would be great, if not I am going to a tech center at school or geek squad at best buy.
